Transferencias de dinero NETELLER en Sur América

English version follows

NETELLER Money Transfer in South America

NETELLER members live all around the world, including many in South America. Hola amigos! We know there are a lot of you down there who enjoy using your eWallets and the services within. Today I’ll explain how our South American friends can get the most out of our Money Transfer service.

Let’s say you want to use the internet to send money to someone. It could be a friend in your city, or someone in another country. Or perhaps you or a relative work overseas and want to send money home. You already use the web to share emails, images and files with your friends and family. Shouldn’t a money transfer service be just as simple?

Best situation: sender and recipient both have NETELLER Extended accounts

Money Transfer with NETELLER can be as easy as email, but ideally the sender and recipient should both have Extended eWallets. If the sender has an Extended eWallet and the recipient is not even a NETELLER member, you can still begin a money transfer. However, there are limits to the amount of money the recipient can accept. To take the money out, the recipient will likely want to use one of our Net+ cards, which come with our Extended accounts. So honestly speaking, the best case is for both parties to have an Extended eWallet. Check our blog articles on getting a NETELLER account and upgrading to Extended to learn more. The process takes a bit of time, but the benefits will certainly be worth it.

Options for South Americans living abroad

Let’s say you or your relative/friend live in Europe, and you want to send money to someone in South America. First you’ll need to move funds into the NETELLER eWallet. In several western countries NETELLER has many deposit options for members who want to fund their accounts: instant bank deposits, local bank deposits, credit cards and more. These options vary by country and have different rates and clearing times. Check out what’s available and choose the best one for your needs. Getting funds into your account will be easy, and with Net+ the person on the other end will have no trouble taking the money out. NETELLER Money Transfer is instant, secure, private and affordable. The sender pays a 1% transfer fee up to a maximum of 10 USD.

Options for South Americans at home

Are you a NETELLER member who lives in Argentina, Peru, Chile, Panama or another nearby country? Currently, your deposit options are limited. We understand the depositing challenges our South American members are facing, and we appreciate your patience and continued interest in NETELLER. We suggest you deposit money via our International Bank Deposit option. NETELLER does not charge for this service, and once started it usually takes 2-3 business days. However, there are some things you should be aware of. You will have to find a local bank that can send money out of your country. They charge for this service and sometimes will ask many questions or require lots of paperwork to complete the transaction.

But watch out for…

Another potential problem is the “intermediary bank” issue. Funds deposited via our International Bank Deposit option will eventually arrive at our partner bank, Barclays, which is located in the United Kingdom. However, if your South American bank does not have a direct transfer relationship with a UK or European bank (and many do not), they will often route the transfer via an intermediary bank in the United States. At this point the transfer will fail, because NETELLER cannot accept transfers from US banks. What is the solution? To increase the chance of making a successful deposit check around and see if you can find a bank in your area that has a direct transfer relationship with a UK or European bank.

Getting money out of the NETELLER eWallet

Once you’ve completed a successful Money Transfer, it’s easy to get your hands on the money. With our Net+ Chip & PIN prepaid MasterCard® you can withdraw cash easily at automatic teller machines nearly everywhere. You can also use our Net+ virtual prepaid MasterCard for secure and convenient online shopping.

Are you a South American member who has used NETELLER Money Transfer? Leave a comment here and share your experiences.

NETELLER explains remittance

One aspect of Money Transfer that has many members scratching their heads is the process of remittance.

Remittance is the term that describes an international transfer initiated by migrant workers who are sending money home to their families. When home is a developing country, these funds can greatly impact the local economy.

How big an impact can it make? The World Bank tracks the worldwide movement of remittance money and in 2008 reported that $397 billion in remittance was paid. That’s a pretty astounding figure.

NETELLER supports top remittance countries

The World Bank has identified countries including the UK, India, Poland and China as the top countries receiving remittance payments. Many NETELLER members are already using Money Transfer to quickly and easily send money between these countries using their local currencies.

Pricey transfers

Some international money transfer services eat up a big chunk of the funds being sent home. Transfers from Germany to China are reportedly among the most expensive in the world. But members who use NETELLER’s Money Transfer service to send money between these countries are able to remit their funds without losing out on a lot of their hard-earned money.

Part of the reason why NETELLER is able to save its members money is that we support many different currencies. I mentioned transferring money from Germany to China earlier, so if you want to perform that type of transfer, we currently use the Euro, Chinese Yuan (Renminbi) as well as the Taiwanese Dollar, and we provide automatic currency conversion between these currencies.

Check out the handy online pricing comparison of services for the top country corridors provided by the World Bank. This is a great tool for consumers to compare the market price of remittance services worldwide.

Have you used our Money Transfer service? What did you think of it?

It’s better than a credit card

This post was written by Lea K. She is the Manager of Consumer Marketing and currently manages all customer marketing programs. This is the 2nd in a series of posts where Lea will be talking about the benefits of using a NETELLER eWallet. You can read the 1st post here.

I already told you the elevator ride version of what a NETELLER eWallet is all about. But sometimes I give the dinner party version too.

Once people hear that it’s more than just a credit card alternative, they start getting interested. They want to know how they get money into their eWallet and that’s when I put my money hat on and tell them more about it.

You can load money into your eWallet in a variety of ways – the choice is yours:

  1. Deposit using a local bank deposit method like Poli (if you’re from the UK or Australia), giropay (if you’re in Germany)  or iDEAL (if you’re in the Netherlands). You can also use your debit or credit card.
  2. Transfer money into your eWallet from a merchant’s site. Simply visit their cashout page and select NETELLER as the withdrawal option.
  3. Receive money from someone through NETELLER Money Transfer.

Many of these options are free to use and we also have frequent “free deposit” promotions which are a great opportunity to load more funds into your eWallet.

Not only do we give you choice in loading your account, we offer dozens of currency options too, which can reduce your overall foreign exchange costs.

Currency choice and foreign exchange fees

Your eWallet lets you transact in multiple currencies because in the online world there are no borders. For instance, even if you live in the UK, you can easily transact online in US Dollars (USD). Just get a USD NETELLER account and once you have loaded your eWallet, you can move your funds to as many different merchants as you’d like without worrying about paying a foreign exchange (FX) fee every time (provided the merchant you deal with transacts in that currency or whatever your currency of choice is). In the long run, you’ll save big on FX fees.

If you’d like to learn more about our eWallet, check this out:

Where will your eWallet account take you today? Let us know.

NETELLER VIP is second to none

Today’s post was written by Leanne. She is a Marketing Manager and works mainly on the VIP program.

I’ve been busy. Really busy. Probably the busiest I’ve been in my 4 years with NETELLER. So busy, in fact, that it’s kind of surprising my fish haven’t died. Thank goodness for the auto feeder I bought after I accidentally put them on a 3 day “diet”. I’m vegan, so I really can’t be looking like some kind of animal killer.

At least I have a good excuse for my absent-minded state. I’ve been intensely focused on improving our loyalty programs to make sure we keep on delivering only the best to our VIP members in 2009 and 2010.

Elite benefits for elite members

We’ve been pumping out the VIP benefits one after another. First free deposits, then the VIP Fraud Guarantee and then improving and expanding NETPoints… we’re giving you everything you’ve been asking for and we’re not stopping there. My motto: it’s never enough.

A better alternative

We understand there’s competition. But really, there’s no comparison, especially when it comes to VIP programs. Don’t believe us? The proof is in the pudding as they say. All you have to do is check out our VIP benefits page and compare it to the other guys. More benefits, more rewards. It’s all there.

Our experienced account managers know the system inside and out and listen closely to your comments about our program to constantly improve it. Bottom line: your business means a lot to us, and we’re willing to go the extra mile to keep doing business with you.

VIPs call the shots

Other companies have their own agendas. We’re not like that.  We constantly incorporate your suggestions and deliver the services you want. Our NETPoints program was brought forward after countless emails I received on the topic. Over 30% of you said NETPoints was of high value to you and because of this we will continue to evolve the NETPoints program making it bigger and better for all of you.

Account level options offer peace of mind

Offering various account levels, especially at the VIP level, allows you to have the account that’s right for you. If you’re hitting your limits, let us know. We can request that your account move up to a higher level so you can take advantage of all NETELLER has to offer. Not meeting your limits? As an added security, you have the option to decrease your limits for extra peace of mind.

1.5% foreign exchange fees for VIPs

Last year we began offering free withdrawals and 1.5% foreign exchange (FX) exclusively to our VIPs. This change made our VIP program even more competitive and appealing to VIPs in the community. 1.5% FX is the lowest around. Transfer $100 with us and only pay $1.50, transfer with the other guys and pay almost $2.00. Sure, that doesn’t seem like a lot but you don’t end up becoming a VIP by moving a few hundred dollars.

If you were to transfer $20,000 with the competition, you’d be paying more than $350, but with us it’s only $300. Over a year of transfers to merchants (not to mention the fees you’re paying to transfer back to your eWallet) you’re paying $600 in extra FX. It adds up. Our VIP program allows you to spend more money for less.

Protecting your money

Over 50% of you said that security was the most valuable benefit you looked for in an eWallet VIP program. In response we created a VIP benefit that covers all possible violations of security and removes any apprehension members may feel when using an eWallet.

We came up with VIP Fraud Guarantee. Think of it as insurance on your NETELLER account. In the unlikely event a nasty hacker does get your account information, your balance is safe, no matter how much goes missing.

The best keeps getting better

I’m confident we’ve done really well this year in continuously renewing our VIP program, communicating how you can become VIP, and most importantly, listening to what you have to say to make our VIP program the best there is.

I’d love to tell you about everything that’s coming up but I have to keep it a secret! So for now, check your emails, read our blog and follow us on twitter for a never-ending supply of information on how we’re making the NETELLER VIP program the leader in eWallet loyalty programs.

What do you like best about being a VIP? You know where the comments go.

New NETPoints mean more NETELLER rewards

Today’s post was written by Leanne. She is a Marketing Manager and works mainly on the VIP program. She’s also in charge of the office fish tank.

For as long as I can remember we’ve had the NETPoints program for the NETELLER eWallet. It’s been around for so long that sometimes it’s easy to forget we’re the only eWallet company that offers this type of program.

What’s a NETPoint?

Members earn NETPoints every time they send money to friends, family or their favourite sites. They can use their points to enter draws to win big cash prizes – $4,500 USD worth per month! It’s no wonder many of our members take advantage of the weekly, bi-weekly and monthly giveaways. But not everyone knows it exists! Well, that’s ending now.

We asked members how we could kick the NETPoints program up a notch and got some great feedback. Now we’ve bulked it up with some fantastic benefits and are ready to send it to the masses!

The goods

  • Earn points every time you send money online to your favourite site, to your friends using Money Transfer or when you use your Net+ card
  • Use your points to enter weekly, bi-weekly and monthly draws (up to $4500 awarded monthly!) or use your points to enter tournaments
  • VIPs can use their points for up to 10 free deposits a month!

And there will be more amazing benefits coming soon. Follow us on Twitter for even more chances to win NETPoints and to find out if you are the latest cash giveaway winner.

I can’t wait to see what you think about the revamped NETPoints program. You know where the comments go.

Online money transfers to friends and family are safe and easy

Today’s post was written by Gary. Before moving into his current role as Business Development Manager, Gary helped to develop NETELLER’s online Money Transfer service as the Marketing Manager for that program.

You’ve already heard me talk about sending money to my cousin Petra in Vienna and co-workers around the world. I’m starting to feel like kind of a broken record here, but people keep asking me how it works. For instance, my friend Chauncy recently told me that using bank transfers to send money to his wife’s family in Taiwan was about as easy as herding cats.

You see, bank wires take anywhere between 4 and 8 days, and the cost depends on how many banks touch the money en route to its final destination – and there’s no way of knowing in advance. Plus, there is no way of knowing if it’s been received. I told him he could save headaches and money by using Money Transfer.

Send money to non-NETELLER members

“That’s fine for you lot,” Chauncy said. “But my in-laws aren’t members.”

“Not a problem,” I said. “Provided your in-laws are online, and you have their email address, you can send them money with Money Transfer. Simply use their email address to initiate the transfer. Once you hit send, they’ll get a message instructing them on how to set up a free NETELLER account to receive the money.”

Give them the heads-up that you’ll be sending money by telling them to check out the NETELLER Money Transfer site at sendmoney.neteller.com

NETELLER online security

“Sure, I can do that,” he said. “But they’re pretty nervous about moving money online. How secure is the service? I want to pay them back without a hassle.”

I told him that NETELLER accounts have the best online security because of the stringent identification processes members go through. And NETELLER is a regulated e-money issuer that has been around for 10 years helping members move money around the world in over 180 countries and 20 currencies. His in-laws can rest assured knowing that their money will land in their NETELLER account safe and sound.

How do you use Money Transfer? Let us know.

Send money online to more than 180 countries with NETELLER

Today’s post was written by Gary. Before moving into his current role as Business Development Manager, Gary helped to develop NETELLER’s online Money Transfer service as the Marketing Manager for that program. This is a follow-up to his first blog post, which you can read here.

Money TransferI’ve already talked about using NETELLER’s Money Transfer service to save time and money while sending birthday money to my cousin Petra in Vienna.

But I could have just as easily talked about using it to send money to my manager Sona while she was visiting family in India to pick up gold jewelry and Pashmina shawls for my wife. Or I could have told you about the time I got paid back by Tom in our UK office after he lost a friendly bet we made about sales performance.

In fact, since Money Transfer allows members to send and receive money almost anywhere in the world, I could have described hundreds of ways of using Money Transfer.

How will you use it?

As long as you reside in one of the more than 180 serviced countries, you can start taking advantage of low cost money transfers around the world. Simply sign up for a free NETELLER account to start sending money to anyone in any of our supported countries.

Choose your currency

You didn’t think we’d offer a service in 180 countries and then skimp on the currencies, did you? Money Transfer provides automatic currency exchange between 20 currencies including US dollars, British Pounds, Chinese Renminbi, Indian Rupee, and the Euro. For a complete list of currencies, check out the Money Transfer website at sendmoney.neteller.com.

Using multiple currencies

When you open an account with NETELLER, you must specify which currency you wish to use. What happens if you want to send or receive funds in a different currency than your account is associated with? NETELLER will automatically convert the funds in to the destination currency, making sending and receiving different currencies a snap.

Let us know where you are sending money or learn more by visiting sendmoney.neteller.com.
