I’ve never been much of an athlete. I blame my father.

Despite being born and raised in a country where hockey is less a sport than a religion, my old man refused to put me into any sport that required a huge outlay of cash. Instead, he enrolled me in the Boy Scouts. To this day, I couldn’t tell you the difference between a poke check and a hat-trick, but I could tie you a ridiculous array of knots.

I don’t have any kids or the organs necessary to birth one, but I’m pretty sure that preparing for a promo—like It’s my sport—is like giving birth.
