A true NETELLER hero

Today’s post was written by Hiro. He is a Merchant Service Representative and he really lives up to his name.

When the marketing managers approached me about being a NETELLER hero, I honestly thought I was going to be part of a small newsletter or something targeting the Asian markets. So, it came as a big surprise when one of my colleagues told me I would be on this site.

That’s when my nervousness kicked in. WHAT?!?  I’m not on the same site as Alan, Jen and the others am I?  They’re described as being the bold, confident, hip, smart, edgy and clever faces of NETELLER! Now those are hard benchmarks to live up to. Am I worthy?

A true hero

I guess one of the reasons that I was chosen to be a NETELLER hero was because, well, I have been one since birth – minus the slight variation in spelling. I’ve lived my whole life with people making comments about my name (Hiro) – “It’s always good to have a hero in the classroom,” “So, hero, can you fly?” At first it was annoying but after a while it kind of grew on me.

A sense of pride

When I fly (whoops, I mean walk) through the hallways of our building today I see my face hanging here and there and it makes me proud to be a NETELLER hero. And now a lot more people around the office know who I am because they see me on our web site daily. So yes, it’s great being a hero and all, but I wish I had a real superpower so I could kick butt playing hockey in the gym with my co-workers!

Who’s been a hero to you recently?
